Being so close to Yosemite National Park, it’s easy to assume that we have to make the drive into Yosemite to experience nature and a good hike. The past two weekends, Teresa and I have made the short drive (20 minutes) to the trailhead for the Willow Creek Trail near Bass Lake, and experienced nature in all its beauty, very close to home. Today, a day after Teresa’s 59th birthday, we made it to the top of the falls, with the spectacular run-off from record setting snowpack. Teresa is building up her skills and endurance and will soon be joining me for more challenging hikes in the area, inside and outside the park.
